The annual Health 2.0 Berlin VC panel is back! Meet Microsoft Accelerator, Holtzbrinck Ventures, Asklepios and DHV on stage, when our host Juliane asks for latest trends, latest investments and future scenarios in Digital Health throughout Germany, Europe and US.
The panel covers 3 parts: trends on startup side, trends on VC side, future outlook 2020, followed by a Q&A with the health 2.0 audience.
Stefan Peters – Managing Director Holtzbrinck Digital GmbH
Stefan is one of the Managing Directors of Holtzbrinck Digital and responsible for the Digital Publishing and Digital Health activities. While working closely with his companies like gutefrage.net, pflege.de and the netdoktor group he is continuously sourcing and evaluating investment opportunities in the Digital Health and Digital Publishing space.
Before he joined Holtzbrinck in 2012, Stefan led several M&A transactions as part of Axel Springer’s M&A core team and was responsible for the investment management of content & community activities within the Electronic Media Division of Axel Springer. Stefan studied Business Administration at the University of Hamburg and started his career with Ernst & Young as a consultant in the transaction advisory unit.
Oliver Rong – Group Head of Strategy and Corporate Development Asklepios Kliniken GmbH
Oliver joined Asklepios in November 2013. Prior to that he spent 16 years at an international strategy consulting firm and was as Partner since 2008 in charge of the health care practice in the DACH region. Before focusing on health care he advised clients in the field of public services and restructuring/corporate finance. At Asklepios besides the strategy development Mr. Rong coordinates the classic M&A issues (hospital, rehabilitation, etc.) and as a new field also the investment in health care startups contributing to Asklepios’ value chain.
Stephan Jaquemot – Startup Strategy Lead Germany at Microsoft Accelerator
At Microsoft Stephan Jacquemot is responsible for Microsoft´s startup activities in Germany. He also built the Microsoft Accelerator in Berlin and the Customer Access Program (CAP) for startups. Prior to that, Stephan co-founded an investment and consulting firm in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Since startups are his world, he founded, invested in and consulted startups throughout his career. Stephan Jacquemot holds a master’s degree with distinction in business administration from Cologne University.
Clara Leonard – Associate Digital Health Ventures / DHV Management GmbH
Clara Leonard is an Associate at Digital Health Ventures (DHV). Prior to joining DHV, Clara worked at Sanofi in San Francisco and Paris as a scout and project leader for Digital Health solutions. She gained a sharp knowledge of the Digital Health ecosystem by sourcing opportunities for partnerships with cutting edge startups and actively contributed to large scale projects such as the joint venture between Verily (former Google Life Sciences) and Sanofi in Diabetes management. She also acquired operational startup experience in a Business Development role at a French tech startup which successfully qualified for Y Combinator. Clara holds a double Master degree in Management from HEC Paris and Ecole Polytechnique, with a specialization in Project Management and Innovation. She studied and interned in France, Germany and Australia, where she earned experience in Strategy Consulting and Private Equity.
Juliane Zielonka – Health 2.0 Berlin Co-Organizer, Managing Director Startupbootcamp Digital Health Berlin
Juliane Zielonka is the Managing Director of Startupbootcamp Digital Health Berlin, an industry focused 3-month accelerator program. Her mission is to empower Digital Health startups to economic growth. She has a proven track record in Digital Health, being the founder of a female health portal specialized on fertility threatening diseases that connects advice seeking women with specialty physicians. She is a co-organizer of the Health 2.0 Berlin chapter and host of this event.
